Laboratory weight rings are donut/ring-shaped rings, made of cast iron and covered with PVC. It is fitted over a Erlenmeyer flask or measuring cylinder filled with liquid in order to prevent its spillage. It provides stability to the flask and prevents it from floating, very useful in case of vacuum filtrations. The covering makes the ring chemically inert.
